The Android One is not supposed to be high-end, and its price reflects that. The is not a high-end device, but that’s exactly the point. The philosophy behind this smartphone is to make mobile technology available to people who otherwise couldn’t afford it. The specs may not be up to par with an iPhone 6, but the price reflects that – unlike most high-end devices that have even higher price markups., it’s safe to say this budget smartphone will be a success. There’s also a valid reason why the Android One won’t be available here in America: We want more.

ZTE is a Chinese telecommunications company you may have never heard of,. Their affordable devices are among the most popular in China – even outselling the iPhone – and ZTE has set their sights on the USA as a new territory to conquer. With supersized smartphones rapidly increasing in popularity, ZTE sees this as a prime opportunity to offer Americans a phablet at an affordable price. But the new isn’t just a budget-friendly device; it’s a high-end smartphone that may convince consumers they don’t need to spend a lot of money. ZTE ZMAX Specs • 1.2GHz Quad Core MSM8926 Processor • 5.7” Gorilla Glass Screen with 1280×720 Resolution • 2GB of RAM + 16GB ROM • microSD Expandable up to 32GB • 8MP Main Camera • 1.6MP Front Camera • LTE Connectivity • 3400mAh Battery • Android KitKat How To Unlock Iphone 4 Cdma Without Sim Card. 4.4. This ZTE ZMAX has high-end specs and a low-end price. Will consumers buy it instead of an iPhone 6?

ZTE’s business plan is to create “affordable premium” devices and the ZMAX is an excellent reflection of that. With a retail price of $252 without a service contract, shoppers will be able to purchase a high-end phone at a low-end price. Will Americans Catch On? To convince consumers who spend a lot of money on smartphones to buy something “cheap” won’t be easy — especially if they’ve never heard of the brand..

It’s unlikely the ZMAX will outsell the iPhone, but it could change the mobile technology industry. Because smartphone prices have been falling while phablet sales keep increasing, ZTE could potentially drive those prices even lower.

But that’s only if it sells. Who has also been trying to change the mobile landscape in America.

By offering unlimited data plans, no contracts, and early termination buyouts; ZTE and T-Mobile seem poised to convince people a phone should only cost what it is worth and not what people are willing to pay for it. Do you think budget premium smartphones can succeed in the USA? Or will Americans stick to their expensive iPhones? Let us know in the comments below. I would prefer expensive high-end phones because CPU and GPU architecture matters a LOT to me. Not to mention continuously growing RAM capacity, even my RAZR M’s 1 GB RAM no longer cut it (and lot of people will eventually pass up on this since some rather good Android apps eat lot of memory). If ZTE think it would be smashing hit – they’re mistaken: technology matters, even with the fact that 64-bit Android phones are coming pretty soon (definitely planning on getting one with Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 system-on-chip).

I don’t see why not. Take for example this model and take a close look at its specs and compare it to the latest iphone 6 plus. They may not be exactly 1:1 but in some areas this phone seems superior to the iphone (e.g. Camera) and in some others they may be equivalent (processing power, memory, screen size and resolution). This model is already out in the market while the iphone 6 is not. This model sells at most at $400 unlocked while the equivalent iphone 6 will be at more than double if you wanted it unlocked.

Of course Blu (or anybody else for that matter) does not have anywhere close the hip allure that iphone carries and that generates tremendous amount of sales and followers who are willing to pay up exorbitant amount of money to be part of the tribe, like you describe in this article •. This reply is in response to your latest message in this dialogue (For some reason I don’t get a Reply button directly below that message). I think it’s important to separate Apple from the rest.

It’s harder for users who have bought into the Apple frenzy to cut off from that relationship and try something else, even if they are what you’d classify as “budget conscious”. Because chances are that people who are bought into the iPhone, carry probably at least one more apple product (i.e a laptop or desktop) and they are used to the style, look and feel, experience, and apps. It’s hard not to see that apple has generated a very strong customer base which is loyal to the company and would rather pony up the extra cash to get its products than experiment with something untested and different. People on the other hand who buy any of the other smartphones out there (Android or others) are more likely to pay attention and try the budget premium smartphone.

If we keep seeing more companies compete in that space actually that will be good and might force the premium companies drop their prices as well. I should have mentioned as a disclaimer, that I own a budget premium phone, a Blu, Studio S5 and I have been very happy with it. Apple always have a buyer’s profile that want to over spent for hardware that are exactly the same with android/pc/etc. Cause they’re good at selling ideas and standing. Hopefully what the history told us is that only convince a small part of the world and the’ll never have the hole pie. So they charge high price instead. Hopefully when android OS, android phone will gain in popularity Apple will be force to open a new market as they did with there tablets/phones.

Remember the last scene in “the pirates of sillicon valley”. Bill’s telling to Steve Jobs “You don’t understand, it’s doesn’t matter” when Job say the Mac is a better product than windows. It’s say it all. Its all about marketing, you are 100% correct. There are so many phones with very good features (htc, nexus 5, lg, motorola) with the android OS that allows you to do so much more and take advantage of a smartphone and unfortunatelly they are not selling as well as the iphone that has limited functionalities comparednto android and windows. Popularity will be the right word for apple and ppl will pay their ridiculous prices maybe because is popular, or they are used to it or they want to have the latest, like in fashion.

I own an htc one m8 and im very happy with it. Owned an ipad dor a month and it really frustated me. Makes me think in why would you be in line to buy the same phone, different style because kets be honest, apple hasnt put out an innovative product lately, just upgraded the camera and added the fingerprint feature. Besides that, its the same phone with a buggy A8 chip. Why ppl are so desperate to have it?? Its like a drug.
